One more full circle moment

A really big thing is happening in my library life right now. To preface: Do you all remember the library tour? That audio tour of the HBLL that we regularly checked out to freshmen (and the occasional awkward RM) in those royal blue portable CD players? Well, recently the library has decided that that particular version is outdated and so they've been creating a new, ultra high-tech tour. Come Fall, freshmen will be able to tour the library using an iPad that features an interactive video tour. At each stop they will scan a QR code to load the appropriate video, which features shots of librarians doing their librarian thing, and a narrator, with an against-her-will-Farrah-Fawcett-hairdo introducing the library's more "useful services." Any guesses as to who that narrator might be? Yep. It's me. And so everybody, in what might be (or at least should be) my last post on the LRC blog, please take comfort in the fact that our legacy will live on indefinitely. Everybody who attends BYU for the foreseeable future (or at least until the iPad is obsolete) will watch this memorable tour, and Amber, the last of the LRC In It's Glory-Days employees, will be doing her best to represent you all well. Much love and hope this finds you all happy! P.S. Let's all take a moment to send good thoughts to Andrew, the man with the last name that can change its pronunciation at any given moment. May your bride feel secure in the way she chooses to pronounce her new surname!

  3. How did I not see this post three years ago?! Any chance I didn't miss my opportunity to witness this glorious incarnation of the freshman library tour? Anybody ever still on this blog? I just happened onto it after a supremely long hiatus and seeing this tour has suddenly become a very urgent need in my life...
